THE ROLE:

You will create short- and long-term production plans for products produced in a Kao Manufacturing Plant. Reporting to the Production Planning Lead, primary goals of the Production Planner position include optimizing inventory, ordering components, ensuring high customer order fill rate, minimizing obsolete and slow moving, and ensuring cohesive and collaborative cross functional partnerships.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Develop daily, weekly or monthly production plans by reviewing forecast streams, demands for promotions, and inventory positions at the Sku level. Production plans must extend up to 12 months in the future for visibility.
  • Place and monitor component purchase orders with vendors to support production plans with consideration to minimum order requirements, lead times, and cost effectiveness.
  • Consider plant capabilities and capacities, batch splits, seasonality, as well as any upcoming restages, product changes and new product launches. Communicate priorities to the Production Scheduler.
  • Contribute to cross functional teams, including NPD (new product development), Consensus/Forecasting, Obsolete, Critical Sku Information Reviews, and others as required.
  • Proactively identify potential stock issues and communicate to cross functional groups to support effective prioritization and decision making in production scheduling or order fulfillment.
  • Identify potential slow moving or obsolete inventory and communicate to drive disposition and appropriate decision making. Prevent and/or minimize by facilitating cross functional discussions when appropriate.
  • Participate in Daily and Weekly Scheduling meetings. Collaborate with Production Scheduler, Buyer/Planners and Production Planning Lead to plan efficiently.
  • Track performance against Key Performance Targets (KPTs) and other objectives. This includes creating, updating, and distributing reports from SAP, Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), BI, Word, and PowerPoint.
