JOB PURPOSE The Planner plays a key role in our assembly/daily sales. This position requires exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. The ability to multitask, prioritize, and communicate effectively in written and verbal formats is required. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Correlates forecasts and demand to develop long term procurement plan * Analyze and assess the market making educated and strategic purchases * Forecast, track and achieve inventory levels and turn projections * Completes additional training, as necessary, for on-going self-improvement * Initiates continuous process improvements * Ensures that adequate inventory and safety stock levels are maintained * Manages MRP (Materials Requirement Planning) in NetSuite * Negotiate purchase prices, favorable payment terms and process purchase orders * Monitor supplier performance to ensure purchasing agreements are met, products are delivered timely and invoiced properly * Assist in material data and organization ensuring the inventory turnover rate is within company standards and all products remain profitable * Create new product SKU’s, Release Work Orders, take Pictures, and input information on the website. * Adhere and contribute to company procurement strategy * Maintain vendor relations to develop new material * Plans production based on internal forecasts and customer demand * Works with other managers, directors and executives within the company thru proper channels to engage in capital projects * Monitors changes in the industry and develops forecasts based on those changes * Use forecasts to develop comprehensive strategies to further the company’s operational goals * Monitor prices by product and vendor to predict and account for financial fluctuations * Research, negotiate, procure, sell, resupply as needed * Coordinates with other departments to overcome or prevent shortfalls * Assist in the organization of promotional events at trade shows or other venues, as well as coordination with staff to ensure prompt delivery of materials and merchandise. * Represent the employer throughout the community at various events. * Process work orders * Occasional warehouse and/or manufacturing assistance * All other duties, as assigned QUALIFICATIONS * Associates Degree and/or two years’ experience in a manufacturing setting preferred (or a combination of both) * Possesses a fundamental understanding of the relationship between products, sales, marketing and the account base * Familiarity with the AK-47 platform * Working knowledge of Magento Enterprise Edition and NetSuite ERP * Strong customer service acumen * Effective communication skills with all levels of the business and be able to reconcile differences in understanding and vision * Data Entry Management, Reporting, Analytical skills, aggressive negotiation skills, and mathematical skills are a must * Self-motivated, strong planning, and organizational skills * Must have excellent time management skills * Must have strong Microsoft Excel abilities * Must be patient, persistent, and have problem solving skills * Be creative with an ability to think “outside of the box” * Must be able to manage conflict * Ability to perform work accurately, thoroughly and timely * Ability to network across the company effectively and maintain good working relationship with all departments and employees * Dependable, Deadline-Oriented, Safety Awareness * Maintain professionalism at all times * Career driven with a desire to grow with the company * Maintains a positive attitude, is goal driven and focused on the betterment and overall strategic picture of the organization * A good team player with the ability to take direction and follow through on tasks * Must be subject matter expert of product lines * Must be able to travel, some overnight travel is required * Must be able to react quickly to market shifts and adjust when new opportunities present themselves WORKING CONDITIONS Occasionally additional hours may be optional or mandatory to complete essential tasks. All work is performed within an office environment with occasional warehouse exposure. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Production Planner will have to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. Worker may be required to lift objects weighing from less than 20lbs to 40lbs on rare occasion. May also be required to walk and stand for long periods. DIRECT REPORTS Not Applicable Must be at least 18 years old.
