Description
Working closely with the manufacturing team, the Production Planner is responsible for production planning, capacity planning, and scheduling of production following customers' requirements balanced against factory capacity. Execute and manage work order process and reports. Forecast shipment impact due to material shortages and communicate to factory floor Process engineering change notices affecting work orders Escalate critical shortages with buyers/sourcing Provide delivery dates for overdue customer orders Place subcontract purchase orders Analyze and problem-solve root causes for OTD misses; implement corrective action Review daily orders entered for appropriate lead time Process sales requests for new order delivery for custom special parts, change order notices, orders released from accounting hold, and orders released from Engineering Calculate, communicate, and enforce lead times for each product line Maintain lead times on the web for assigned product lines Develop, lead, and facilitate the cross-functional Production, Sales, Inventory (PSI) process for assigned value stream (s) Develop, maintain and analyze output forecasting, load and backlog analysis consistent with Sales orders forecast and manufacturing capabilities for assigned value stream (s) May be assigned additional projects and responsibilities at the sole discretion of the Associates degree required; Bachelor's preferred Previous work experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting preferred; will consider internships/co-op experience Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Expert EXCEL skills and knowledge (Macros, Pivot Tables, etc.) Knowledge of ERP systems, JDE preferred Excellent communication skills to effectively interact at various levels within an organization Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
