Description

Job Description: The Production Planner/Scheduler is responsible for planning the inventory and production requirements to maximize production efficiency, minimize inventory investment, and meet customer lead time expectations. This role will own the processes used to plan, schedule, release, move and track the flow of material requirements from Purchasing and Sales through Production to Shipping. The Production Planner/Scheduler collaborates with, and functions as a critical liaison between, the production, purchasing, sales and shipping teams.
Status: Salary Exempt Position Type: Full-time (Occasional Overtime Required)
Hours: 40-45 hrs Schedule: M-F

REQUIREMENTS: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Apply Lean Thinking to teamwork and processes (waste, flow, level work, etc.)
  • Set production plan.
  • Schedule production and shipping of all customer orders with appropriate teams
  • Understanding and application of production capabilities and processes so production meets demand.
  • Work with Supply Chain and Sales to verify that all materials needed to produce the customer orders are available.
  • Communicate regularly with various teams about the current production schedule and lead times.
  • Monitor the execution of the production and shipping plan and resolve any potential issues in a timely fashion.
  • Analyze back, current, and upcoming orders to prioritize, plan, and schedule production operations.
  • Verify cover demand closures.
  • Identify stagnant workorders and investigate the deletion or processing of the workorder. Kanban Reports?
  • Adhere to company standards and production policies to meet company objectives.
  • Maintain reports for production planning activities and sequences to ensure schedules support the current production plan.
  • Support and help in other areas as the manufacturing schedule dictates.
  • Kanban management and stock replenishment.
  • Other duties as needed : Job duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time and may include potential transfers to other departments and local facilities.
