The incumbent will be a strategic partner to WS and DTG, understanding specific channel business needs and reacting to reorder opportunities while maximizing inventory between the divisions. This role will issue, track, and chase all Omni channel Women’s Swim production orders and ensure that finished product is delivered on time and meets Tommy Bahama’s high-level quality standards. The Production Planner will be a key liaison with Tommy Bahama technical design, allocations, imports, swim vendors, agents and material suppliers. BE THE ISLAND GUIDE Buying/Production: Issue Omni channel production commitments to minimize all surcharges. Communicate production issues or delivery delays to the appropriate cross functional team members, customer service, allocations, and imports. Analyze sales against purchases and adjust size scales in season to maximize sales and maintain appropriate inventory levels and top to bottom ratios. Maintain accurate record of all production purchase orders. Track and maintain accurate records of all transaction certificates received and required. Responsible for daily production issues and communication with all swim Agents and Vendors. Review and track quality issues with cross functional team and determine discounts, cancelations and claims against vendors as required. Forecast seasonal buys with WS partners. Process any special Omni Channel in season requests (including WS specials). Project fabric and trim requirements and make seasonal commitments with vendors based on sales and historical data. Monitor usage and balances. Manage hangtag and label inventory and ensure we have stock on hand at all times to cover bulk orders. Keep manager aware of any potential oversold situations or excessive inventory levels. Monitor orders and issue Air / Sea split PO’s when necessary. Partner with Omni Channel partners on any specific delivery requirements. Manage divisional investments to ensure that smart risks are being taken, basic businesses are protected, and financial targets are met. Support future category strategies where needed and provide appropriate and timely direction to the cross-functional team. Create and manage seasonal production time and action calendars. Other duties: Ensure timely set up and maintenance of seasonal style master, collection codes and cost sheets in Blue Cherry. Review and publish product placement by channel each season. Monitor and/or develop category specific calendars to meet production timing. Actively look for opportunities to improve and streamline processes to reduce costs & maximize profit. Develop best-in-class in support of category growth, customer responsiveness and speed to market. Maintain appropriate levels of inventory on RP and core product for Wholesale accounts. Review bookings report (weekly and monthly) and place orders based on the bookings calendar. Review weekly WIP reports from all vendors and call out any issues on late deliveries, etc. Review time phased trend reports to determine air split needs. Update BC with adjusted delivery dates. Work directly with DTG buyer / WS sales reps on placing reorders and/or specials. Issue Drop/Change/Update memo to cross functional teams as needed. Manage inventory stock position. Freeze final costs in BC prior to bulk PO’s shipping. Submit production invoices and shipping packing lists to Imports department if not already included. Move goods to route in BC once packings lists are received. Review for any issues regarding shortages and overages. Callout anything to vendor or allocations if orders will be affected. Manage SML through BC. Update factory assignments in BC as necessary. Manage and track all bulk fabric and garment test request and review residuals to ensure accurate garment care instructions. Review and approve garment care instructions and care label layout; submit care instructions by style to ecommerce as requested. Work with AP on adding new vendors in BC. Be liaison with the Oxford compliance team and ensure that vendors are taking any necessary corrective action and maintaining social compliance. Check status on vendor production invoice payment status, if needed. Place all international orders and manage the entire process from order placed (start) to goods received (end). Create reports needed requested by Senior Director of Production and Planning. Work closely with DC and allocations on any issues with damaged inventory. Issue chargebacks to vendors when necessary. ESSENTIALS FOR LIFE IN PARADISE Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent experience Generally, 4+ years production planning and forecasting experience. Experience in retail merchandising and retail math a plus. Strong computer and MS Excel skills. Production planning, forecasting, knowledge of the production process, lead-times, garment construction. PLM system knowledge is desirable. Blue Cherry experience preferred. PDM experience desired. Strong analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent math skills. Travel approximately 10% of the year. Multiple factors will vary the applicable rate of pay for this role, including an individual’s experience, knowledge, and skillset, as well as work location and available budget.
