Description

The Production Planning and Design Technician will be responsible for supporting the continuous improvement and efficiency of the company’s mechanical design and manufacturing processes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2–3-year college diploma/trade certificate or equivalent in industrial/mechanical engineering technology.
  • Certified expertise or practical experience in industrial/manufacturing engineering with at least 3-5 years experience.
  • Strong background in lean manufacturing, process documentation, and safety compliance.
  • Ability to travel internationally as required.

Responsibilities
  • Developing and maintaining SolidWorks 3D models and technical production drawings.
  • Supporting the integration of historical 2D design data into standardized 3D modeling systems as needed.
  • Designing plant layouts and production systems tailored to specific facility requirements.
  • Assisting with equipment assembly, testing, and validation of production systems.
  • Performing time studies, ergonomic assessments, and lean manufacturing evaluations to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Supporting health and safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with OHSA standards, and recommending ergonomic improvements.
  • Preparing operator manuals and assisting with technical and safety training within the facility.
  • Liaising with suppliers and internal departments to provide technical support and document product and process development activities.
