POSITION SUMMARY: The Production Scheduler is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing daily and weekly production activities in a pistachio processing and packaging facility. This role ensures efficient use of labor, equipment, and raw materials while meeting customer demand, quality standards, and shipping deadlines. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules for pistachio processing and packaging lines. Coordinate with purchasing, inventory, quality assurance, and logistics teams to align production with raw material availability and customer orders. Monitor production progress and adjust schedules in real-time to address equipment downtime, labor shortages, or supply issues. Ensure optimal utilization of processing equipment, packaging lines, and workforce. Track inventory levels of raw pistachios, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods. Collaborate with sales and customer service to meet order fulfillment deadlines and priorities. Analyze production data to improve efficiency, throughput, and waste reduction. Maintain accurate scheduling records in ERP/MRP systems. Support compliance with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, FDA regulations) and company policies. Communicate schedules and changes clearly to production supervisors and plant management. JOB COMPETENCIES: Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Preferably 2-5 years of experience in production scheduling, manufacturing planning, or food processing (nut processing experience preferred). Must have excellent time and project management skills. Proficient in computer skills to include Word, Excel, Sage, ERP, etc. Ability to multitask and work effectively with cross-functional teams while maintaining professionalism. PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT The facility is a manufacturing environment, and this position may primarily be outdoors. The manufacturing environment and working outdoors may include high levels of noise. When working outdoors, conditions can include extreme cold, heat, or humidity; and sometimes can include work in dusty conditions. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as designated by the company. Position requires standing, sitting, and walking on a regular basis for prolonged periods. Near vision-ability to see details at close range. Ability to continuously use trunk strength (abdominal and lower back) to support repeated bodily movement.
