Description The Production Scheduler / Planner is responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing the production schedule for a CNC machining operation. This role ensures efficient workflow across multiple machines and departments by aligning customer demand, material availability, labor capacity, and machine utilization. The ideal candidate will drive on-time delivery, reduce bottlenecks, and support continuous improvement initiatives within a high-mix, low- to mid-volume manufacturing environment. Requirements Responsibilities/Requirements On-time delivery performance Schedule adherence Reduction in production delays and bottlenecks Improved machine utilization and throughput Inventory/WIP control Attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration Critical thinking and decision-making under pressure Time management and prioritization Adaptability in a dynamic production environment Preferred Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) 3+ years of production planning/scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and shop floor operations Experience with ERP/MRP systems Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, scheduling tools, reporting) Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Experience in a precision machining or aerospace manufacturing environment Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement Knowledge of capacity planning and finite scheduling APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) Experience with high-mix, low-volume production Environment Primarily office-based with regular time spent on the shop floor Exposure to typical manufacturing environment (noise, machinery, etc.) May require occasional extended hours to meet production demands The right candidate will exemplify our core values in every area of their work: Integrity, Quality, Entrepreneurial Attitude
