Read more about our story at: www.iplglobal.com The role A vacancy has arisen for a Production Shift Leader at our Hull site (HU9). This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on and motivational leader who can manage a team, troubleshoot issues, and maintain high standards of safety, productivity and quality across a busy 24/7 manufacturing site. You will oversee the operations on the factory floor, ensuring that production schedules are met efficiently and safely in collaboration with a team of colleagues to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer demand. Please note that the working pattern for this role consists of 12 hour shifts across days, nights and weekends. Key responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the activities of production team members, ensuring a consistent presence across operational areas Lead by example in ensuring a safe and efficient work place is maintained at all times, championing efforts to enhance safety measures Ensure that quality standards are maintained and issues addressed, with corrective action explored as necessary Achieve daily and weekly production plan targets to satisfy customer service levels Identify any training needs and take an active role in the development of people Support the Production Manager with the monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in respect of production output and people performance, addressing trends as necessary. Liaise with support functions to progress issues concerning production planning, resource and skill allocation Drive improvement in machine efficiency, resourcing levels and effective handover arrangements Contribute to the improvement of working procedures by constantly looking for solutions to ensure the best productivity results and create a culture where improvement suggestions are embraced Conduct return-to-work interviews, performance reviews and address conduct or capability issues in line with HR procedures. Act as a point of contact for employee grievances, disciplinaries and workplace issues, facilitating resolutions and maintaining a positive workplace culture. Conduct effective shift handovers with accurate reporting of performance, issues and planned actions. Support cross-functional projects aimed at process optimisation and cost control. Adjust staffing levels within their shift to meet production needs. Maintain accurate production, quality and downtime records. About You You will have experience of supervising a team within a manufacturing environment with a track record of taking ownership and accountability of results delivered through others, as well as supporting their further development. You will be highly organised and adaptable, able to work well under pressure with strong problem solving abilities. You will be an effective communicator who can liaise with key stakeholders from across departments. You will take a keen interest in developing your expertise, both to strengthen your own personal development, and also support the growth of the business.
