Under the direction of the Site Manager, the Production Supervisor works with the Production Manager to support the daily production activities at the Acrylamide Plant in Riceboro, GA so the Plant can produce quality product at the least cost, and consistent with delivery schedules and in compliance to Company and government regulations. The Production Supervisor will report to the Flocryl Site Manager.
Responsibilities:

Specifically, the Production Supervisor will have responsibility for the following functions:

  • Directly supervising the activities of eight hourly employees charged with the chemical manufacture and loading/offloading of Acrylamide and its raw materials.
  • Maintaining and improving safety standards while conforming to safe work practices and procedure.
  • Identifying and initiating corrective actions to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to product quality and production efficiency.
  • Assists the Production Manager in efficient personnel scheduling.
  • Checking that finished product meets all customer and internal specs.
  • Working with the engineering & maintenance departments to facilitate plant maintenance & troubleshooting in order to decrease downtime & improve productivity.
  • Ensuring all safety permits are completed and obeyed.
  • Participating in and/or leading continuous improvement efforts site wide.
  • Attending and actively participating in all safety and production meetings.
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of the Company’s products, customers, and proprietary information.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent degree required.
  • Preferred two to five years, successful, and progressive manufacturing supervisory experience required in the specialty chemical industry.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills including strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • The ability to participate effectively in business planning and to arrive at sound decisions designed to produce effective results.
  • Confident, bright, articulate, innovative, highly motivated, and self-starter with a high energy level and a spirit of team effort and cooperation.
