Description
Description The production /shipping role will assemble the company’s products, quality check, and pack according to specifications, and assist with shipping and receiving. Duties/Responsibilities: • Reads blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation, then builds the company’s products to those specifications. • Uses various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks. • Maintains logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine/equipment maintenance, and product inconsistencies. • Checks products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolves any identified problems and alerts supervisor. • Maintains production logs, inventories, documentation, and reports, including those outlining procedures, batch records, inventory, productivity, changeover, and progress. • Receives goods and verifies the quality and count of all items unloaded from trucks and trailers; checks against suppliers’ count and immediately reports discrepancies to carriers, supervisor, and purchasing officer per company policy. • Verifies and records all items loaded for shipments. • Carefully and accurately maintains shipping records for requested categories, including goods returned, dunnage, and returnable pallets. • Maintains a database of shipment data to ensure that customer orders are updated and that appropriate billing documents are provided to accounting or other associated departments as required. • Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions. • Prepares bills of lading and dray tickets for shipments. • Completes information on damage claims for in-transit damage. • Transports materials on the shipping dock with a hand truck or other vehicle as needed. • Loads trucks using a forklift or hand truck. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as necessary to complete logs or records. • Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics, and basic ability in mathematics, reading, or writing. • Detail-oriented and consistent. • Works well as a productive member of a team. Education and Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Two (2) years of related experience Physical Requirements: • Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks. • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. • Must have manual dexterity to assemble products or machines as directed. • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination and the ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components. • Must wear required PPE.
