HerdStar, a growing small manufacturing business, based in Mankato, Minnesota, has partnered with companies all over the United States and is selling products across the world. The Production Specialist is responsible for performing a wide variety of tasks including, but not limited to; coating, mechanical assembly, soldering, and testing. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation. Soldering SMT and Thru hole electronics Mechanical assembly including box builds, cable assemblies and bracket assemblies Conformal coating electronics circuit boards. Programming and testing electronic circuit boards Small package and LTL shipping. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS The ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job. Basic math skills. Ability to use/read a tape measure. Soldering certification. The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects. The ability to read schematics. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance Ability to follow written assembly procedures Ability to follow verbal instruction Good organizational skills, well disciplined, and able to meet deadlines, self-starter; Ability to work in a small environment Ability to work under pressure of many priorities and deadlines; effective problem solver; High School diploma or equivalent Forklift certification Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally do heavy lifting, up to 60 lbs. Mixture of sitting and standing throughout the day, and the use of small hand tools. The ideal candidate has excellent finger dexterity, fine motor and vision.
