LIGHTERA has one of the longest and most respectable corporate lineages in American business, which goes back to Alexander Graham Bell and the invention of the telephone more than a century ago.  We have a proven track record of being first in the industry with application specific fibers, optical connectors, ribbon cables, erbium doped fibers, Raman fiber lasers, fiber gratings and more.  Our mission is to provide leading optical innovations and solutions by designing, manufacturing and supplying the best optical fibers, fiber cable and components and devices for our customers, with exceptional service that creates value for our shareholders, customers and employees.  To do so, we must continue shaping the future of communications by applying the best minds to the challenges our customers will continually face.   We currently seek a Production Specialist to help support our Norcross, GA location.   This position shall be responsible to operate machines requiring limited interrelated adjustments with detailed procedures in manufacturing layouts, engineering specifications, similar operating procedures, or work instructions, including but not limited to, inspection; basic care and cleaning of equipment and work area to ensure process efficiency and product quality.     Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:   Having the functional capacity to perform efficiently and safely in each job assignment required. Perform a wide variety of bench and assembly work.  Operate machines requiring limited interrelated adjustments with detailed procedures in manufacturing layouts, engineering specifications, or similar operating procedures.  Assist in the loading, unloading, string-up, set-up, and operation of complex machines.  Test and inspect in-process and completed products.  Perform material handling duties requiring the operation of all types of material handling equipment.  Receive, store, stage and ship all types of materials and products.  Communicate and instruct other Level 2 employees.  Perform work assignment and coordinating duties for a group of Level 2 employees. Perform other duties as assigned.       Key qualifications:   * High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). * Prior manufacturing experience is preferred. * Machine control interface (touchscreens) * Basic computer use: mouse, icon, hotkeys and restarting clients. * Reading, Writing English language. * Basic math * Time management * Computer tablet interface. * Computer app use * Basic software use and internet browsing   Must be able to work any shift or work schedule. Some technical schools are desirable. Employees are expected to serve as role models for safe work practices and behaviors.
