QUALIFICATIONS

Proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and inventory management.
Experience with production scheduling software or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

JOB PURPOSE
The Group Leader is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the production floor, ensuring that products are manufactured on time, at the required quality levels, and within budget. This role involves leading production staff, ensuring safety compliance, and optimizing production processes for maximum efficiency.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead a team of production workers to ensure high-quality manufacturing standards and meet production goals.
Plan and assign production tasks to team members based on workload and priorities.
Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance with safety standards.
Conduct regular inspections of production equipment and machinery to ensure they are in good working order.
Troubleshoot production issues and work with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve technical problems.
Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
Maintain accurate records of production quantities, downtime, and material usage.
Train new employees and provide ongoing training to existing staff on safety procedures, production techniques, and equipment usage.
Ensure production schedules are met and provide regular status updates to leadership.
Collaborate with other departments, such as quality control and logistics, to ensure smooth production and timely delivery of products.
Perform other duties as required to improve production operations.
