Think of it as ‘practical magic.’ Job Description The Production Supervisor manages and supervises all production operations on the shop floor, under the direction of the Plant Manager. (5 shifts a week, starting Sunday night, ending Friday morning) Duties and Responsibilities: Supervise the production team, working daily with production leads. Ensure the safety of all team members through proper training and reinforcement in all plant positions. Communicate daily goals to team members as dictated by the production schedule. Support plant layout changes and direct efficient flow in all departments through standard work for continuous improvement. Work closely with Maintenance and monitor equipment reliability. Manage daily and weekly production requirements. Manage safety and continuous improvement team events. Manage and drive improvements in scrap, labor, and other manufacturing costs. Enter and delegate entry of daily production numbers Daily completion of Production Supervisor Leader Standard Work (LSW). Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising a production/manufacturing team. Experience working in a manufacturing, distribution, warehouse environment, preferred. Must be able to operate all machine areas and currently hold a Level 4 in two of the cell areas (Edge banding, Pack, Saw, CNC/BHX) AND become a Level 4 in another cell area within the first 90 days Must have proficient computer skills including applications such as the MS Office Suite and typical manufacturing databases. Basic knowledge of production scheduling, suppliers, and customer interfaces and interactions. Cabinetry and/or furniture industry experience is a plus. Experience in lean manufacturing, knowledge of the Toyota Production System a plus. Ability to interpret drawings and specifications is a plus. Fluency in a second language is a plus. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force infrequently, and/or up to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
