Description
Guide the manufacturing team to meet production schedules, exceed customer expectations, and improve on-time delivery, labor utilization, and productivity. Fully engage the workforce by empowering team members with decision-making authority and encouraging involvement in change initiatives. Promote lean manufacturing, continuous learning, and innovation through the Continuous Improvement Framework Management System. Reduce past due orders, scrap, rework, and overtime costs while maintaining quality objectives and standard work formats. Train, evaluate, coach, and develop employees to meet performance goals, including operator certifications and cross-training. Advise and support employees in achieving value stream, departmental, and plant goals. Uphold employee relations and ensure adherence to the Union-Management Labor Contract, applying disciplinary measures judiciously. Conduct weekly team meetings, daily Tier Meetings, and shift handovers to share vision, priorities, and critical information. Ensure attendance and pay records are kept up to date and are accurate for assigned personnel, including OT equalization per CBA language. Effectively communicates with the department engineers, planning and maintenance to support plant and departmental goals. Associates' degree or higher from an accredited institution. Three (3) years of experience working in a manufacturing environment. Two (2) years of experience as a team lead or manager of people. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook). Experience with CNC Programming and electronics assembly. Labor relations experience, managing a team under a Collective Bargaining Agreement. Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings and specified technical information. Experience supervising maintenance or similar technical team members. Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and project management skills. Comfortable being the Company Agent, carrying messages from Sr. Leadership to the shop floor even in instances where that message differs from personal opinion. Excellent interpersonal communication skills to be able to respond and deal with diverse employee-related situations (recruitment, training, motivation, discipline, changes in priorities).
