ASCO Aerospace Canada is a division of Montana Aerospace, with our facility located in Delta, BC. We are looking for a Production Supervisor to join our Production team at the Canadian operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 3 years of previous related supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is required
- Previous experience in a unionized environment is preferred
- Previous experience in CNC and/or manual machining is preferred
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to coach, lead, and motivate others
- Experience with preventing, managing, and resolving conflict
- Proficient written and spoken English
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, etc)
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles is considered an asset
- Able to organize activities and take proactive action to meet production needs
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and maintain focus in a busy production environment
- Able to effectively problem-solve technical issues within a team environment
- This position is for our daytime shift, but the ideal candidate would be able to work afternoon shifts as needed (i.e.. vacation coverage).
Responsibilities:
- Communication of job expectations as well as monitoring and appraising job results to ensure progress toward Production Plan objectives
- Ensure employees work in a safe manner and adhere to safety policies/procedures
- Ensure strict aerospace customer quality requirements are met during production
- Monitor and approve overtime as required
- Participate in the performance review process for employees
- Participate in the recruitment and onboarding process for new employees
- Supervise the proper usage of machines and processes
- Participate in continuous improvement
- Oversee adherence to the Collective Agreement within the production team
- Promote a culture of ownership among all team members
