Safety Policies and Procedures, as well as the safety requirements of our customers where applicable. Immediate reporting of any safety violations or concerns. Ensure all applicable regulatory standards are met with regards to loss prevention, accident investigation, OSHA compliance. Works with team members to actively improve safety of the plant. Ensure safety action items are completed accurately and timely. Quality: Ensure team members are accurately following quality policies and procedures. Ensure manufactured products meets specification and are of highest quality. Work with Quality Manager, Operations team members, and production team members in the development of SOP’s and Work Instructions, identification of root causes, and implementation of corrective actions/preventive actions. Communicate and coordinate training on new processes and procedures. Productivity: Production department leader responsible for delivering performance objectives to safety, quality, productivity, cost, and budget objectives. Ensure production personnel achieves daily targets. Analyze work order targets and production schedules to determine operational priorities and appropriate information required to complete orders within the lead times. Records and ensures accurate recording of data Holds team members accountable for results and sets expectations for department daily and weekly. Ensure consistent communications in order to foster a spirit of teamwork, responsibility and cooperation throughout the company. Look for ways to improve efficiencies and increase capacity in order to reach increasing customer demands. Work with maintenance to correct equipment issues, improve workstations, and correct facility issues. Cost: Manage labor costs and standards for production in accordance from BTA goals communicated from the Head of Operations. Ensure team members are minimizing waste for all direct materials. Ensure accuracy of inventory through accuracy of transactions in SAP. Manage and minimize indirect material spend consumed by the team during production. Works with engineering to identify manufacturing processes and products for improvement. I.e. fixtures to increase reliability and repeatability, interchangeable parts, equipment to automate or streamline processes, etc. Continuous Improvement: Drive CI initiatives through the production department. Participate and provide resources for 6S events, Kaizen events, and improvement projects. Use 6S audits results to ensure sustainability of improvements Ensure housekeeping n production environment is maintained and improved to 6S standards Demonstrates appropriate justification for investment request. Other Duties As assigned Requirements Educational and Experience Requirements 3-5 years in manufacturing. 2-3 years in a supervisory role within the production environment. Demonstrated leadership skills Experience in Lean and Continuous Improvement required (6S, Kaizen, Value Stream Map, etc.) Experience with ERP systems; SAP preferred MS Office (Excel / Outlook / Word) Lean certifications are a plus. Other Requirements Strong communication skills. Ability to speak in front of large groups of people. Ability and willingness to work as a member of a team; initiative Flexible work hours when required Detail oriented and ability to make sound judgments Confidentiality; professionalism Proven analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
