SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Brewing or agriculture education an asset.
  • Related grain, agriculture, malting, or brewing experience is considered an asset.
  • Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to general safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of HACCP.
  • Experience with labour relations is considered an asset.
  • Experience in the handling and management of railcars is considered an asset.
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership to plant production, shipping, and grain handling operations in conjunction with other production staff.
  • Establish operational priorities and schedules for manufacturing products and grain handling processes in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Coordinate processing/shipping activities to meet customer requirements.
  • Resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Ensure adherence to best in class manufacturing practices and procedures.
  • Manage environmental and safety programs and initiatives to ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations best in class safety performance.
  • Responsible for planning and scheduling production employees to meet production plan goals.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, applicable laws, and health and safety requirements.
  • Effective people management, including organizing and scheduling tasks.
  • Assist with attracting, selecting, training, and retaining talent.
  • Work with Human Resources to assist with labour relations.Maintain health and safety training program.
