Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the production activities for the respective shifts plant wide. This includes maintaining established production and quality standards and reducing down time
  • With the assistance of his/her Manager the incumbent shall establish daily production priorities as issued by customer service.
  • In the event of mechanical/electrical problems the incumbent shall request assistance from the Maintenance Department as necessary.
  • Ensure that employees that employees receive proper and adequate job instruction
  • Shall administer the terms of the collective agreement as it applies to his/her responsibilities, inclusive of administering discipline.
  • Ensure that all safety and health issues are addressed in accordance with Company Policy and ensure the well being of the employees.
  • Track injury incidents and make recommendations for Continuous Improvement
  • Assist with problem solving and make recommendations for employee engagement
  • Maintain open dialogue with all employees.
  • Work as team members ensuring cross communications ensuring consistency between shifts
  • Ensure work instructions are updated and reviewed with all concerned before release
  • Obtain daily production and quality requirements
  • Maintain health and safety requirements, inclusive of housekeeping (5S)
  • Maintain effective discipline and attendance control
  • Improvement of quality issues
  • Reduce downtime due to mechanical issues
  • Engage employees in the resolution of concerns
