Description The Production Supervisor is an individual knowledgeable of factory processes both in the process as well as the packaging area. Trained in Food Safety principles and handles well the Food Safety Plan developed for our products. Is capable of developing appropriate strategies to comply with the production plan requirements in the most efficient manner by supervising and developing staff; organizing and monitoring workflow and actively looks for opportunities for improvement. The Production Supervisor reports to the Production/Process Manager and leads directly a team of up to 5 line leaders and approximately 40 line associates. Production Supervisors are required to work flexible schedules as required by business needs. Requirements Actively review the production plan to suggest in a timely manner the best planning configuration to use production time efficiently based on line’s throughput capabilities. Communicates and delegates job orders and goals to line leaders and team. Plans ahead the shift activities and coordinates required resources and support from other departments. Provides direct reports with the required resources to perform a quality job (labels, specs, packaging materials, tools, etc.). Monitors attendance, addresses attendance issues, and provides reasonable reasons for overtime approval. Receives and trains new employees, tracks progress and performance, and executes performance reviews when needed. Ensures workplace safety, proper training, and compliance with company safety policies. Adheres to cGMPs policies and ensures team compliance. Supports HR in training following established paths for each area/position. Reports QA, Food Safety, and/or Personnel Safety concerns immediately and participates in resolution. Reports manufacturing issues or deviations (productivity loss) to the Plant Manager with description and improvement suggestions. Actively participates in audits and new product development trials related to production/process. Ensures production and traceability reports are completed, loaded into appropriate systems (e.g., NetSuite), and sent to required recipients. Builds positive rapport with line leaders and encourages the team to meet Safety, Quality, and Productivity targets. Counsels employees when needed to ensure proper work environment. Develops team for backup support and promotes work-life balance.
