  • Passion for safety - previous employment in a zero harm environment
  • Flexible with hours of work, including weekends to meet the needs of the quarry operations
  • Communications skills, ability to deal with stakeholders and customers across a broad spectrum
  • Currently holds or willingness to obtain G1,8,9 (S1,2,3).
  • Currently hold or be willing to obtain relevant WHS and Risk Management quals
  • Cert IV in Surface extraction operations will be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience in hard rock quarry operations, mining and/or fixed and mobile plant operations
  • Strong knowledge of hard rock quarrying and crushing processes
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Working on a 2:1 roster at our Newman Quarry, we can support the successful Supervisor obtaining a statutory supervisors qualification as well as helping you to progress your career towards being a Quarry Manager.
You will join our team on a permanent basis, overseeing the day-to-day operations reporting to the Quarry Manager. This dynamic and diverse role will support various key functionalities, including maintenance, plant performance, safety, environment, and quality control.
This exciting role is instrumental in maintaining production volumes in accordance with the quarry production plan and ensuring that the quarry production process is carried out in a cost effective manner. You will maintain a focus on continuous improvement with a view to optimising outcomes for the quarry over time.
You will demonstrate strong capability in supervision and coordination of all daily site activities, leading safety and environmental legislation compliance as well as implementation of business SHE policies and procedures.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that company safety standards and procedures are achieved
  • Supervision of staff and contractors
  • Production, maintenance planning and on site improvements
  • Assist Quarry Management for site internal and external audits
  • Ensure all personnel and contractors are inducted and trained for the task they perform
  • Ensure daily operations comply with Holcim’s SHE requirements
  • Actively participate in Safety Improvement Team meetings and encourage
  • participation of contractors
  • Conduct daily pre start meeting with personnel
