Responsibilities

Supervisors are a critical component of efficient and profitable production. At Wilcox the supervisors are part of the production team creating the constant connection between planning and execution.
On a daily basis the supervisor manages the team members in each area of expertise. Assigning work, communicating requirements, monitoring progress and resolving issues as they arise, responsible for enabling the team members to produce orders on quality and on schedule.
Working with the production team the supervisor reviews daily and weekly production schedules. The supervisor validates the expectations, confirms the details, checks documentation and verifies the schedule. Communication on all points is critical and all discrepancies are resolved with the production coordinator and plant manager prior to assigning to the Production team lead.
Working within the active production schedule the supervisor remains aware of all orders in production and communicates with other supervisors to ensure orders are progressed through the production process on schedule. This information is clearly communicated to the production team and the supervisor sets clear expectations for daily production and time efficiency. Any concerns with the ability to achieve target must be communicated well in advance of the required completion date.
Quality is critical to Wilcox’s reputation and must be managed throughout the production process. Through daily inspections of the team’s work, reviewing the production documentation and quality documents the supervisor delivers a product free of rework requirements. Problems with documentation, design or requirements are documented and brought to the appropriate team members in keeping with Wilcox’s focus on continuous improvement.
Safety, 5s, continuous improvement and training programs are important aspects of a supervisor’s team’s success and adequate time is dedicated to implement and progress these programs as part of the role.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
1. Daily execution of production requirements, monitoring quality, costs, delivery schedules, documentation and customer requirements.
2. Execution of production programs including continuous improvement, 5S, training and safety
3. Daily and weekly communication with production planning on schedules and issues effecting delivery
4. Development of detailed production plans for all active orders with work assignments and transition dates in communication with other production supervisors.
5. Contribute to the development and implementation of production and process documentation including time saving tools, build instructions, standards, engineer change orders, and production issue notices.
6. Monitor and report on productivity, efficiency and budget performance to the Production Manager
7. Set goals and expectations and communicate these to team members.
8. Review performance and efficiency continually to ensure team members are working as effectively as possible to stay within the scheduled timing.
9. Work with team members to continuously improve quality, efficiency and performance
10. Semi annual reviews of all team members, identify training needs, provide performance reviews as per HR requirements
