Description
Purpose: The Production Supervisor will coordinate production department activities and special projects.  She/he will supervise their team in accordance with company policies and procedures.   Key Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed): * Maintain adherence to all safety guidelines.  Review safety performance and provide corrective actions as appropriate.   * Assure that the department established Procedures/Work Instructions/ and documents are properly completed and maintained.   * Continuously review our Quality performance and provide lessons-learned with Team Members to promote a good quality mind-set. * Accomplish 100% on-time delivery through effective daily and weekly production requirements planning.        Work closely with Production Control Scheduler to ensure proper planning and prioritizing. * Achieve daily production needs by coordinating resources and prioritizing tasks.  This is to be accomplished with the best utilization of manpower to minimize man-hours per unit and minimize overtime. * Foster a proper working environment through fair, consistent, and respectful treatment of employees; also guiding and expecting same actions from Team Leader position.  Resolve employee relation issues through effective remediation techniques.  Utilize Human Resources team and/or Manufacturing/Plant Manager to assist in solving unresolved work-related issues. * Conduct various skills assessments and performance evaluations for assigned employees.  Establish employee goals. * Develop/strengthen Production team through proper training, coaching, and guidance. * Train employees on Procedures, Methods, Quality Requirements, Safety, etc. * Provide leadership to team: * Work to develop positive attitude on shop floor. * Work to foster a culture of ownership, passion, and a sense of urgency on shop floor. * Instill mindset of teamwork and cooperation among team members and other departments. * Lead by example.   Qualifications:   Education and Experience: * High School graduate or equivalent required. * Minimum of two years’ experience in a Manufacturing environment. * Previous leadership experience (i.e. Team Leader); supervisory experience preferred. * Able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds regularly.   Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Demonstrated ability to drive 5S and housekeeping activities to maintain excellence. * Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Good Manufacturing Practices. * Strong organizational skills to manage scheduling, training, vacations, overtime and coverage for absenteeism. * Ability to ensure Team Member participation in continual improvement and cost reduction activities. * Proficiency in monitoring daily performance metrics, resource needs, and time/attendance accuracy. Legal Requirements: * Must be at least 18 years of age due to federal labor law requirements. * Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.   Supervisory Responsibility: Yes. The Production Supervisor directly supervises production Team Members and may be cross-trained to support other supervisory areas as needed.   Working Conditions: * Work is performed in a manufacturing environment focused on automotive parts assembly.   * Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including gloves, safety glasses and safety shoes is required when on the production floor. * Shift work, including overtime and weekends, may be required based on production needs.   Physical Requirements: * Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods while overseeing production activities.  * Frequent movement throughout the manufacturing facility, including climbing stairs, bending, stooping and reaching. * Capability to occasionally lift, carry, or move materials and objects up to 30 pounts. * Visual acuity to read documents, observe product quality, and monitor equipment operation. * Sufficient manual dexterity and coordination to use standard office and production-related tools (computers, handheld devices, radios, etc.)           Remote Work: Not applicable – onsite role.   Compensation and Benefits:  * Competitive Salary commensurate with experience.  * Comprehensive health, dental & vision insurance * Company-paid life insurance and disability coverage * 401(k) retirement plan with company match * Paid time off (PTO), holidays, and other leave programs * Professional development opportunities   Equal Opportunity Employer Statement: HL Mando is an equal opportunity employer and value diversity in our workplace.
