Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide manufacturing leadership to fully engage employees and foster a productive work environment.
  • Promote a strong safety culture where employees believe that all injuries are preventable. Investigate and prepare reports on safety near-misses, injuries, and workplace hazards.
  • Maintain adherence to Company and OSHA safety standards, conduct safety workplace inspections and facilitate safety programs such as behavior-based safety.
  • Ensure employees receive training on procedures relating to safety, quality, and production. Conduct training, cross-training, and rotation of employees for product, process, and employee development.
  • Provides leadership to motivate and inspire the primary team to deliver the optimum performance in all facets of the plant for the shifts they are assigned.
  • Work closely with other Supervisors to achieve plant targeted metrics.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality. Operate within standard operating and quality procedures.
  • Work cooperatively with production and maintenance teams to identify and resolve production issues in an efficient manner and assist in the resolution of quality / production problems. Identify and eliminate root causes of problems and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
  • Evaluate team members’ performance and provide coaching and guidance to improve employee’s skill sets. Responsible for consistently administering the employee corrective action plan as needed.
  • Plan and manage scheduling for production team. Maintain employee time and attendance in Kronos. Complete shift reports.
  • Assure that a clean and safe working environment is always maintained.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Successful candidates will be required to rotate with his/her assigned shifts.

Basic Job Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in a technical field preferred or equivalent production leadership experience.
  • Experience, knowledge, or training in Lean Manufacturing and 5S.
  • High-speed manufacturing supervisory experience preferred, and fiberglass mat plant or equivalent experience would be ideal.
  • Supervisory experience of 3-5 years
  • Strong interpersonal skills and leadership ability.
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, presentation and listening) and analytical skills.
  • Proven track record of operational improvement through employee engagement.
  • Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office preferred.
  • Ability to grow and mentor talent.
  • Possesses strong process and financial acumen.
  • Ability to effectively motivate and bring together a new team with everyone focused on Operational Excellence.
  • Experience working with a plant start-up would be ideal but not required.
