We are currently recruiting a Production Supervisor, reporting to the Plant Manager for our Dartmouth, NS location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance for production employees.
  • Organize and maintain an effective workflow.
  • Establish departmental procedures and ensure policies and procedures are followed.
  • Facilitate and encourage effective communications.
  • Identify and address areas of concern and seek solutions for resolution.
  • Promote and ensure quality in all aspects of department functions.
  • Establish and maintain a healthy working relationship and strong safety culture with supervisors and department employees to ensure compliance for all applicable health and safety regulations.
  • Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist Plant Manager in preparing and implementing action plans and continuous improvement strategies.

Required knowledge and training includes:

  • Experience supervising in a unionized manufacturing workplace.
  • Ability to work rotating shift schedules.
  • Post-secondary education with a focus on manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, supply chain management, inventory control, or materials management, would be an asset.
  • First Aid, CPR and Emergency First Responder training, or the willingness to receive training.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as excellent customer service orientation.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment with little supervision.
