Production Supervisor – 1st Shift Location: Elkhart, IN, USABusiness Unit: Thermal Ceramics Are you ready to lead a manufacturing team in a dynamic, hands-on environment? Morgan Advanced Materials, a global leader in advanced material solutions, is seeking a Production Supervisor for our 1st shift at our Elkhart, IN facility. As part of our Thermal Ceramics business unit, you’ll play a vital role in overseeing production operations, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery, while empowering your team to achieve operational excellence Responsibilities What You’ll Do: Lead by example by championing safety as the top priority and fostering a premier safety culture through VSL/thinkSafe activities. Empower your team by providing training opportunities to enhance skills and achieve advancements in team performance. Coordinate production operations, including staffing, scheduling, and problem-solving to maintain on-time delivery and meet production goals. Monitor performance metrics for quality, efficiency, and output, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions when necessary. Collaborate with leadership to ensure smooth transitions between shifts through effective handovers and communication. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and improve quality. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and operational policies, such as 5S principles, PPE usage, and documentation control. Foster a culture of accountability, providing coaching and feedback to empower team members and resolve challenges on the production floor. Qualifications What You’ll Bring: Holds an associate degree or equivalent education; a bachelor’s degree is a plus. Has 3-5 years of manufacturing experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (JDE experience preferred). Possesses excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to engage with team members at all levels. Has experience leading teams, solving problems, and driving continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma and Lean principles.
