Description
Responsible for the daily material handling functions for the facility and for the department Lead and manage unionized hourly personnel Provide direction and support in the allocation of resources to appropriately cover material handling responsibilities Supervise, evaluate, and empower an hourly team that produces manufactured products, and organize workflow to meet quality and daily productivity requirements Ensure proper material flow from receiving dock, to marketplace storage location, to the production line feed location, to the delivery of finished product to customers Support Ford Production System and synchronous material flow through lean manufacturing practices Ensure safety, quality, and productivity objectives are met through coaching standardized work, verifying lines are running safely, smoothly, and producing quality parts Provide communication and recognition Build hourly Team Leader and Team Member capability Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks Support Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) and coach problem resolution to the lowest level Basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents Ability to work independently with limited supervision Capable of assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms of safety, quality, and throughput Strong organizational and administrative skills Ability to multi-task Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills Drive to exceed personal, team, company goals by holding self & team to high performance standards through servant leadership Build strong interpersonal relationships with hourly team members, union, and management teams Established and active employee resource groups High School Diploma or GED 1+ years of supervisory in a Material Planning and Logistic manufacturing environment Working knowledge in Microsoft: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook Ability to work rotating shifts and hours, including nights and weekends Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism in difficult and stressful situations Bachelor's degree in, Operations, Transportation & Logistics, or Supply Chain Management Safety and MPL experience Six Sigma: Black or Green Belt certified Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles Prior experience managing a unionized workforce Ability to multitask Ability to work independently Successful candidate should be able to demonstrate leadership in One FORD (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills https://fordcareers.co/GSRnon-HTHD This position is a range of salary grades 6 and 7.
