MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • Printing experience highly recommended for this role.
  • 3+ years Supervisory or operations leadership experience within the printing industry is highly desired; experience in a high volume manufacturing environment is a prerequisite
  • Paid Overtime
  • Proficient with MS Office applications and systems
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and critical thinking skills are essential
  • Ability to organize and prioritize essential tasks to achieve results
  • Able to work rotating shifts as per operational requirements
Responsibilities
  • Ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with OHS standards; that workers
  • Leading and supervising a team of unionized workers to optimize safety, are protected from any hazards and such hazards are identified and controlled; and workers use the prescribed safety equipment
  • Maintain and enforce quality standards including good housekeeping protocols.
  • Develop plans to ensure annual KPI objectives are achieved for safety, product quality, efficiencies and cost; providing direction and support to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Coach and performance manage workers with emphasis on frequent communication, feedback and promoting a high level of teamwork and engagement
  • Plan the effective and efficient scheduling of labour
  • Provide expertise and direction in the determination of equipment, parts and materials needed and coordinating preventative maintenance needs
  • Foster strong relationships and communication with internal and externals departments and stakeholders
  • Coach and enforce specific safety rules and behaviors ensuring timely and accurate reporting of accidents / incidents and proactive prevention measures
  • Provide daily feedback to workers on performance and conduct performance reviews with direct reports
  • Facilitate crew meetings to ensure current safety, quality and production related issues are considered and resolved
  • Administration and application of the collective agreement and Company policies/procedures
  • Preferred experience in printing
