QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Post-Secondary education is considered an asset.
  • Prior experience in supervision is required.
  • Knowledge of Specialty Ceilings products is an asset.
  • Hands-on experience operating, setting up and troubleshooting Brake Presses and CNC machines is considered an asset.
  • Able to work flexible hours and all shifts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work as a team.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates ability to adapt to changing business conditions to support the needs of department.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be a people and results-oriented individual who incorporates and emphasizes safety and quality in all aspects of the daily work environment.
Responsibilities
  • Running and operating machinery alongside team.
  • Leading team of operators and technicians in execution of Specialty Ceilings production orders.
  • Planning and assigning production work and training to operators and technicians.
  • Monitoring level of raw materials and WIP necessary for production demands.
  • Participating in quality investigations and following quality control protocol as prescribed by plant’s Quality Program.
  • Providing ongoing feedback to the crew and coach employees to help them develop their skills and abilities.
  • Recommending the hiring, motivating, and training of hourly personnel.
  • Recommending and administering personnel activities such as performance reviews, formal coaching sessions, promotions, disciplinary actions, and evaluations.
  • General housekeeping duties.
  • Assisting in the implementation and training of CGC/USG Model Programs, Safety Rules, VWI’s and Standard Operating Procedures, as required.
  • Exercising personal safety, promoting and enforcing safety among crew members.
  • Supporting the Reliability Program, including scheduling and maintaining all rules and procedures related to the maintenance initiatives.
  • Developing and maintaining good employee morale and working relationship within the department and with other departments
  • Ensuring all safety guidelines are being followed and enforced in accordance with current legislative requirements and CGC policy.
  • Carrying out applicable position responsibilities in a manner that provides for a safe working environment for all CGC employees
