REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a valid UK driving licence and own vehicle (factory is not accessible by public transport)
  • Proactive, organised, and willing to learn
  • Comfortable with physical, hands-on work in a food production setting
  • Strong communication and teamworking skills
  • Computer literacy (e.g., email, spreadsheets, records)
  • Previous experience in food production or FMCG is a plus, but not essential

Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY

This is a development role designed for someone ready to take the next step into leadership. You’ll support the Production Manager in overseeing daily operations while also working directly on the production line when needed. You’ll learn the ins and outs of production management—team supervision, quality control, safety standards, and workflow efficiency.
You’ll also need to be flexible and prepared to stay late on occasion when large orders need fulfilling.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the supervision of production staff (5–10 team members)
  • Work on the production line when required
  • Ensure safety, hygiene, and SALSA food standards are maintained
  • Assist with daily setup and coordination of production runs
  • Monitor quality and output to ensure targets are met
  • Keep accurate production paperwork and traceability logs
  • Ordering raw materials and managing goods-in/ goods out
  • Train and support team members
  • Escalate issues to the Production Manager promptly
  • Be proactive and hands-on, stepping in where needed
  • Be flexible with working hours during peak periods
