Position Summary
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the candidate will provide Generalist services and support to the plant including Human Resources, Health and Safety, and Finance Support. In this role you will be coordinating key activities and tasks as defined by HR and Finance policies and procedures, Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures.
Provide administrative support for plant operations including maintenance supply/ part ordering, data entry, and reporting on all plant metrics/ IRO processes. Responsibility for facility planning (people and production) and logistics. Lead Health & Safety, Green teams.

EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous SAP experience is an asset.
  • Able to apply the 3-5 years of relevant experience from a manufacturing environment to deliver on all role and responsibility expectations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Automation Tools and Transactional Data Bases.
  • Enjoys working hard, is action oriented and full of energy. Can be counted on to achieve results, with a clear bottom line focus. Able to make sound decisions using all available resources, and clearly shows good judgment in interpreting company policy, procedure and processes.
  • Office automation tools such as Excel.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, able to crouch, bend and kneel, as well as capable of heavy lifting and carrying.
  • May involve exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, noise, dust, fumes, or hazardous materials.
  • PPE, such as helmets, safety glasses, gloves are required in the plant.

Responsibilities:

  • SAP - Responsible for accurate and timely SAP inputs for accounting and inventory purposes
  • Accounts Payable/Receivables -prepare all invoices for processing and complete the scrap sale reports and plant recycle invoices for the purpose of AR.
  • Inventory - Process cycle counts, assist Finance with reconciliations when necessary, administer the annual physical inventory count. Manage all raw material and finished goods cycle counts and adjustments. Investigate and resolve COGI and In Transit errors. Report to Finance on completion of Month End Close procedures. Verify all raw materials receipts and analyze BOM’s for accuracy.
  • Act a Human Resources administrator for the purpose of Recruitment and Selection. Includes screening, interviewing, and the hiring. This includes the new hire orientation and on-boarding.
  • Ensure annual training plan is executed and monitored. Maintain all employee files and provide Benefit Program support locally.
  • Maintain hourly employee time and attendance system and prepare bi-weekly summaries.
  • Complete all Health & Safety Accident and Incident investigations and participate on the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
  • Responsible for all facility events and meetings. Assists Plant Manager with all details while ensuring compliance with policies.
  • General plant production support: inbound and outbound mail, filing, contacting employees when needed, coordination of all plant gatherings, acting as the point person for all community related programs.
  • Maintain all contractor and vendor logs, training and sign offs. Maintain accurate records.
  • Assist in the development of all new SOP’s. Revisions of existing SOP’s and ensure all OPL’s are added to SOP documents as needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained. Analyze obsolete finished goods and raw materials, coordinate dispositions, manage all pallets.
  • Record, analyze and chart daily downtime. Track budget to ensure avoid overruns. Create, maintain, up-date daily production reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.
