Position Summary    This position will act as Production System Engineer (no direct reports) with broad responsibility for the successful implementation of the Halla Production System (HPS) & plant wide Continuous Improvement (CI) projects.    Job Roles & Responsibilities Description * Responsible for Halla Production System implementation using (12) lean HPS elements supporting Standardization, People Involvement, Continuous Improvement, Built-In Quality, Flow and Flexibility. * Responsible for developing, maintaining & communicating a vision & strategy for implementation of comprehensive Lean manufacturing systems and HPS with a focus on driving continuous improvement that ensures production volume, cost and quality to support business development. * Responsible for Continuous Improvement management including planning, initiation, and implementation of CI projects and activities of considerable scope, variety, and complexity. * Sets expectations for lean organization/culture. Leads direction and focus to ensure comprehensive understanding and implementation of HPS concepts that delivers quantifiable benefits. * Establishes priorities, recommends actions, executes actions, verifies results and makes course corrections. * Make recommendations based on advanced knowledge of lean priorities & production systems for all processes, products, and functions plant wide.  * Assist in developing annual business plans. * Assure adherence to TS-16949 and company procedures. * Assists in establishing yearly operation goals, objectives and performance standards with management. * Aligns manufacturing plant objectives and performance standards (KPIs) with overall value stream Objectives, Goals, Strategy, and Measures. * Works with Manufacturing Management to deploy resources (capital, technical support, etc.) to insure that business needs are being met from a Lean quality and service perspective.   Skills & Competencies Technical Competencies: * Comprehensive Knowledge of lean principles and automotive operations. * Proficient in project management systems and methods. * Strong Organizational skills with the ability to execute tactical plans. Non-Technical Competencies: * Strong interpersonal and teaching skills. * Excellent time management with a sense of urgency. * Ability to make quick and reasonable judgements.   Required Experience & Education * Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Engineering, Manufacturing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience which has provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field. * Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job acquired through eight or more years of increasingly responsible experience that included previous project management and use of Production Systems and CI principles (e.g. lean manufacturing). * Automotive experience in a high volume environment. * Certification as a Six Sigma Black Belt is a plus. Working Conditions: The HL Production System Engineer primarily works in an office setting, performing tasks such as data analysis and report preparation in a climate-controlled environment with standard office equipment. The role also requires regular on-site presence in a manufacturing facility, where exposure to moderate noise, machinery, and production activities may occur, necessitating adherence to safety protocols.
