Description

We are seeking a dedicated Production Team Lead to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced bakery environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, hands-on bakery or food production experience, and the ability to motivate a team while ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and support bakery staff to meet production goals.
  • Assist in onboarding new employees (full-time and temporary), including training on role responsibilities, equipment handling, and company policies.
  • Monitor staff performance, provide coaching, and contribute feedback for performance reviews.
  • Oversee daily production schedules, delegate tasks effectively, and ensure reports (production, damages, etc.) are completed.
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure all baked goods meet quality, freshness, and product specification standards.
  • Address and resolve line issues or conflicts in a timely manner.
  • Maintain workplace cleanliness and compliance with food safety and health & safety regulations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency.
  • Communicate regularly with supervisors/management regarding staffing, performance, and operational updates.
  • Be willing to learn baking and mixing processes (training will be provided).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–3 years of supervisory experience (preferably in a bakery or food manufacturing environment).
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety and workplace safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment (standing, bending, walking, and lifting up to 44 lbs).
  • Effective stress management and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) is an asset.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
