REQUIREMENTS

  • A third level qualification in Science, Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline desirable
  • 2 years minimum manufacturing experience preferably in a food/drinks environment.
  • Previous experience in leading a team
  • Experience in operating within, and delivering on, the highest quality standards in the manufacturing sector
  • Results driven, customer focused with high performance capability in a fast moving challenging business environment
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills and the ability to nurture and develop employees
  • Track record in decision-making and ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to modify style to engage effectively with different people
  • Competent in SAP would be beneficial
  • Accident / Incident / Hazard Investigation
  • Training to risk assess all work tasks for which you are responsible

Responsibilities

ROLE PROFILE

Our UHT Plant in located in Lough Egish, Co Monaghan. The Team Leader role reports to the Production Manager with responsibility for managing and motivating a shift team on a 24/7 operation to achieve Plant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including throughput, quality, safety etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a team of Production Specialists in a 24/7 operation and act as an escalation point for all team members, resolving any people related issues that may arise on shift
  • Execute the daily production plan through the management of the production process and associated processes and systems.
  • Act as key decision maker in relation to production impacting decisions within a shift and escalate issues where necessary
  • Lead the daily shift handover meeting, ensuring meeting objectives are met and all stakeholders are actively contributing
  • Conduct a root cause analysis (RCA) on shift where production KPIs have not been achieved
  • Maximise team understanding in relation to performance against KPIs. Drive team performance through feedback, coaching, counselling
  • Manage training standards and compliance within the team ensuring achievement of training KPIs
  • Working with maintenance team, agree priorities relating to maximising plant performance during and across shifts
  • Ensure standardised procedures are enforced and adhered to, and address any areas of under-performance or non-conformance. Communicate corrective actions to Teams.
  • Promote a culture of excellence by ensuring all product is made to defined quality standards and meets the customer specification
  • Management of all hazards across their shift in line with plant policies and procedures and champion execution of risk containment practices in the context of the shift and team
  • Ensure that shift related documentation is completed and signed by the appropriate person and is up to date at all times.
  • Contribute to the development of site culture and act as role model for Plant values and behaviours.
  • Champion and instil a culture of continuous improvement based on LEAN Manufacturing principles
  • Monitor plant outputs in the context of environmental compliance to ensure that the plant does not exceed licensing parameters
  • Promote a safety culture within the plant through leading by example and ensuring that all Health & Safety procedures are adhered to and EHS regulatory compliance standards are met
