POSITIONSUMMARY

The Team Lead position is a key role in the recycling plant. The Team Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of a production team to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks. By leading and managing a team of production workers, including assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and providing guidance to ensure the team meets production goals, safety and quality standards at met.

EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Previous supervisory/management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the recycling industry.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Proven leadership skills to manage performance and inspire team to achieve results. Communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Strong operating skills in organizing, planning and time management, as well as getting work done through others with the ability to manage and measure team members work progress.
  • Working knowledge of computers.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Lifting, bending, pushing and pulling may be required.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection and bump cap must be worn on the production floor.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Production Operators to achieve production goals.
  • Train, coach and develop operators.
  • Track production results and provide shift reports.
  • Supports maintenance team when required to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Holds daily staff meeting and organizes manpower to meet production needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety, and quality standards while meeting production performance targets.
  • Cover the line as required to operator during rest periods
