Job Title: Production Team Leader
Location: Poole, Dorset
Hours: 3 Shift Rotation – 06:00 till 14:00 / 14:00 till 22:00 / 22:00 till 06:00
Salary: Up to £37,262 + Discretionary Bonus of up to 5%
The core focus of this role is to support the Shift Manager to lead a small team consisting of Production Operatives. You will show leadership, promote a high standard of both personal safety and food safety whilst ensuring the maximum utilisation of labour hours.

Key responsibilities will include the following:

  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the factory and associated equipment by adhering to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Promptly report any unsafe acts or conditions encountered.
  • Provide a safe working environment and ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met.
  • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure product consistency and adherence to standards.
  • Effectively manage the factory team through development plans, return-to-work interviews, and performance conversations.
  • Maintain clean and tidy work areas to prevent congestion.
  • Pursue opportunities for learning and take responsibility for personal development while supporting others’ learning experiences by sharing knowledge and experience to develop a multi-skilled workforce.
  • Drive SPIRIT behaviours within the team ensuring an engaged workforce with increased team moral. Be the operational point of contact for the factory with all other internal departments.
  • To manage labour requirements within budget.
  • Responsible for the materials coming in and finished goods leaving the factory.
  • Oversee the coordination of cleaning and maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
  • Liaise with the Planning department to achieve the Production schedule.
  • Actively participate in improvement projects within the factory.
  • Capture of all the data required to record the shift performance.
  • Deputize for the Shift Manager during meetings, projects, holidays, or as needed.
  • Challenge poor standards and practices within your team and with 3rd parties.

You must be able to evidence experience of driving employee engagement though coaching and development, leading and promoting continuous improvement activities and the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues in all departments to align priorities.
