Hynds is a New Zealand industry leader in the manufacture of precast concrete products. We're looking for a hands-on Production Technician to join our team in Christchurch — someone who takes pride in their work, cares about quality, and wants to be part of a crew that has each other's backs. What you'll be doing No two days are exactly the same. You'll work across different areas of our production facility, contributing to the full manufacturing process — from mould setup and reinforcement assembly through to concrete casting, finishing, and product stripping. Specifically, you can expect to: Set up and assemble formwork and moulds to drawing specifications Place reinforcement cages and pour concrete to spec Strip, ramp, and mark finished product to production standards Maintain quality control and complete QC documentation accurately Keep your work area clean and organised using 5S principles Contribute to pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, and continuous improvement initiatives What you'll bring At least 1 year's experience in concrete, precast, carpentry, steel fixing, or automated production Ability to read and interpret plans and drawings A solid understanding of quality standards and safe working practices Class 1 licence with F (OSH forklift) endorsement, or the ability to obtain one Gantry crane ticket (3800) is an advantage A team-first attitude — reliable, flexible, and respectful Why Hynds?
