Overview: We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Production Technician to join our advanced manufacturing team. Our facility specializes in advanced metal powder fusing, firing and hardening in furnaces, and applying coatings using advanced technologies. In this role, you will cross-train and support two critical processes within our production cycle: coating preparation/inspection and furnace operation. You won't be expected to have experience with our specific equipment on day one. We are looking for someone who is highly coachable, has strong fundamentals in manufacturing, and is eager to learn and improve every day. Technicians will be responsible for executing the following duties across both the coating and furnace operations: Coating Preparation & Inspection Heat Building & Fixturing: Handle and arrange various styles of inserts into predetermined fixturing to build heats for the coating furnaces, ensuring all critical areas are properly exposed for a quality product. Quality & Quantity Verification: Perform inspections and verify the quantity of incoming products prior to coating. Assure product is processed according to proper routings and specifications. Visual Inspection: Inspect coated carbide inserts using the unaided eye and microscopes. Verify that the product and style match the route card, and accurately record all necessary information. Workflow Management: Originate documentation to accompany heats through the Coating Focused Factory. Transfer completed inserts to the next work center. Furnace Operation & Maintenance Machine Operation: Load and unload furnaces. Monitor computerized controls to manage temperatures, pressures, chemical flow rates, and gas flow rates to critical process parameters. Enter quality data by furnace and heat results, and monitor graph outputs. System Integrity & Maintenance: Ensure the integrity of vacuum systems by conducting vacuum leak checks and performing periodic preventative maintenance. Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot furnace problems and rebuild or replace furnace components as needed. Material Management: Ensure adequate gas and chemical levels for correct operations according to procedure. Replace tanks as needed. Set up and separate product. Emergency Response: Act as an Emergency Responder within the Coating Department. Required: Work Authorization: Due to defense contractor regulations, candidates must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident. Fundamentals: 2+ years of manufacturing experience of any sort. Mindset: Highly coachable, reliable, and dependable with strong attention to detail. Must be able to maintain focus and quality standards in a somewhat repetitive environment. Education: High School Diploma or GED. Preferred: Machine/Furnace Operation: Prior experience setting up and operating machinery, vacuum systems, or industrial furnaces. Quality Control: Proven ability to work with tight tolerances, utilize visual inspection equipment (like microscopes), and perform rigorous quality checks.
