Description Summary The Production Technician of Laser is responsible for machine setup, programming, first-article creation, and process development, similar to CNC operator responsibilities. The Production Technician is able to use all laser marking and engraving equipment and trains others as needed. Key Accountabilities Meet or exceed organizational goals for cost/rates, safety, OTD and quality Meet or exceed expectations regarding the organization’s attendance policy Key Responsibilities Adhere to established safety, quality, and customer requirements; consistently meet or exceed expectations Support training, development, and on-the-job learning for production employees as assigned Maintain high standards of housekeeping, organization, and cleanliness; ensure production areas are audit- and tour-ready Assist with programming, job setup and workstation preparation to support continuous workflow Meet or exceed established production rates for assigned laser marking and engraving work Ensure accurate job tracking, documentation, and system transactions Perform laser marking and engraving operations according to specifications Select appropriate programs, fixtures, and tooling for marking and engraving jobs Set up, adjust, and align machine components (including lenses) to meet job requirements Conduct routine equipment checks and basic maintenance as required Perform dimensional inspections and verify compliance with specifications Verify adherence to work instructions, process documentation, and standard procedures Operate material-handling equipment, such as forklifts, as required Support daily production scheduling activities when needed Use computer systems daily to print paperwork, labels, and other production documentation Other duties as required by business needs Must be able to work 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday Requirements Qualities for Success High school diploma or GED equivalent Must be a Citizen of the United States of America or have a current Green Card Experience is required in Laser Cutting, CNC, Lathe, or Mill machining General computer skills and the ability to work with basic computer programs Ability to balance workload effectively and stay organized Ability to read and understand processes, procedures, and instructions Ability to work and collaborate with others respectfully and professionally Ability to be dependable and punctual, work overtime as needed Physical Requirements Lift up to 10 lbs. regularly and up to 30 lbs. on occasion Ability to use hand tools requiring using fine dexterity and precision Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, and bending for 8 hours as the position requires The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Work Environment This position location is on the production floor. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work near moving mechanical parts and could be exposed to chemical or electrical shock risk. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and noise levels that are typically moderate.
