JOB SUMMARY

We are hiring on behalf of our client, one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world, for the position of Production Technician (Night Shift) at their facility in Plymouth, UK.
This role is part of a highly automated, high-volume production environment. You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing electro-mechanical faults, ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering (C&G, HND, or time-served apprenticeship)
  • 2–5 years’ experience in a high-volume, automated manufacturing environment
  • Strong engineering aptitude with proven problem-solving ability
  • IT literate, with a methodical, process-driven approach
  • Organised, self-motivated, able to work independently and in a team
  • Committed to safety and quality standards

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair electro-mechanical faults promptly using methodical problem-solving techniques
  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and refurbish machinery and ancillary equipment offline
  • Ensure all manufacturing equipment is set up correctly to meet established Quality Control and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards
  • Monitor and improve line performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and inefficiencies
  • Support the installation and validation of new equipment and technology
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes and systems
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Maintain strong safety awareness, especially with electrical, compressed air, and pressurised systems
