Description The Production Worker is a versatile role responsible for the assembly and manufacturing of high-quality structural building components, including roof trusses, floor trusses, and wall panels. This position involves manual labor, tool operation, and collaboration within a team to meet production deadlines while upholding Better Living’s long-standing reputation for expertise and safety. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Accurately assemble wood products according to production orders, blueprints, or shop drawings. Safely use pneumatic nail guns, specialized saws, hammers, and other hand or power tools. Measure, cut, and move lumber and metal connector plates as required for the specific production line. Ensure all finished products meet company quality standards and specific project measurements. Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a hazard-free environment. Assist other departments and team members as needed to meet daily production goals and shipping schedules. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS Previous experience in a warehouse, construction, carpentry, or manufacturing environment is preferred but not required. Ability to read a tape measure accurately and perform basic mathematical calculations (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing). Comfort and dexterity using hand and power tools in a fast-paced environment. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT Ability to stand and walk for 8–10 hour shifts. Must be able to continuously lift/move up to 25 lbs., frequently lift/move up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift/move up to 100 lbs. with assistance. Work is performed in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility. Exposure to wood dust, loud noise, moving mechanical parts, and varying temperatures is expected. COMPETENCIES Ability to follow detailed oral or written instructions. Strong common-sense understanding to deal with standardized situations and variables. Willingness to work overtime as production volume requires.
