Department/Unit: School of Chinese Medicine Closing Date: January 22, 2026 Background Established in 1998, the School of Chinese Medicine (SCM) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is committed to advancing education, research, and clinical practice in traditional Chinese medicine. Over the years, it has nurtured more than 1,700 graduates and has become a leading institution in the development of Chinese medicine in Hong Kong. The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong (CMHHK), officially launched in December 2025, is the city’s first flagship hospital dedicated to Chinese medicine. CMHHK operates under a public–private partnership model, integrating clinical services, education, and research. As a teaching hospital, CMHHK collaborates with Hong Kong’s universities to nurture future practitioners and drive innovation and scientific research in Chinese medicine. SCM at CUHK invites applications for the position of Professional Consultant. The appointee will be seconded to CMHHK and/or other teaching clinic(s) of SCM, CUHK to undertake clinical teaching and clinical duties as appropriate, contributing to the advancement of Chinese medicine education, research, and service delivery in Hong Kong. Requirements Applicants should: - be registered Chinese Medicine Practitioners (CMP) with the Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong. - possess at least fifteen years of post-registration experience. - demonstrate excellence in theoretical knowledge, clinical practice, research, and teaching in Chinese medicine. - hold at least a master’s degree in Chinese Medicine or a relevant discipline (a doctoral degree is preferred) in Chinese Medicine or relevant disciplines. Candidates should also: - be passionate about teaching, research, and contributing to the establishment of CMHHK. - be meticulous, responsible, and equipped with strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. - be self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. - have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua). - be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Chinese word processing. Work locations include the Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong in Tseung Kwan O, SCM clinics (CUHK Campus, Shatin, Tsim Sha Tsui, and Wan Chai), and CUHK Medical Centre. Appointment Terms The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term basis for two years. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
