ABOUT THE ROLE:

An opportunity has arisen within South Wales Police to join the Learning and Development Assessment and Standards Unit (ASU) as a Professional Development Advisor.
You will be responsible for the initial training and on-going assessment and professional development of newly qualified trainers (NQTs), experienced trainers, assessors and internal quality assurers (IQAs) within L&D and across the organisation.

ABOUT YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To be responsible for the design, delivery, assessment and evaluation of trainer, assessor and quality assurance programmes to South Wales Police officers and staff, working with external bodies as necessary.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to identify training needs and objectives to support the design and implementation of effective CPD learning solutions for trainers, monitoring and measuring the outcomes and impact of training.
• To plan and carry out formative and summative internal quality assurance, in line with internal quality assurance processes and external Awarding Organisation requirements, when applicable.
• To liaise with Awarding Organisations and External Partners as required.
• Apply creative and innovative design approaches, including blended and online training, which optimise audience engagement through images, animations, video, audio and interactions to reinforce learning.

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE DO WE NEED YOU TO BRING TO THE ROLE:

• Must have a good standard of education to at least GCSE A-C Level, including Maths and English, or be able to demonstrate equivalent skills and abilities.
• Must be the holder of either a police trainer’s certificate, a Certificate in Teaching in Lifelong Learning Section (CTLLS), a certificate in Education & Training (CET), have completed the College of Policing Training Essentials Programme (TEP) or have successfully obtained a certificate in Education/P.G.C.E. in post 16 Education or equivalent (adult education).
• Must hold a relevant assessor qualification (i.e., TAQA Level 3, A1 or D32/33).
• Must hold a relevant quality assurance qualification i.e., TAQA Level 4, V1 or D34 (or be willing to work towards).
• Must hold a Level 5 Coaching qualification (or be willing to work towards).
• Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications.
• Must be able to communicate at all levels and develop professional relationships.
• Must possess good organisational skills and be able to manage tasks simultaneously, delegating where appropriate.
• Must be able to plan, develop, monitor and implement systems and procedures and maintain quality standards.
