The Office of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development (OFAPD) in the School of Medicine (SOM) is recruiting for a Professional Development & Education Support Specialist. This position is necessary to support daily activities of the OFAPD in the School of Medicine (SOM), specifically within the realm of CME coordination and support. This includes but is not limited to assisting with the planning and execution of CME-certified activities (regional, national, international, live and virtual), create the activity in Cloud CME with objectives, target audience, CME credit hours, registration link, registration fees, exhibitor link with exhibitor fees for online registrations and exhibitor payments and create evaluation for a given CME activity, managing communication with internal and external faculty, course participants and industry representatives and vendors, as well as accreditation and compliance monitoring. This person will also assist with some aspects of CME finance account processing.
This position will also assist the Senior Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs in executing programming specifically for faculty development. This position will participate in collecting and analyzing data about faculty professional growth, surveys, leadership development, and post-retirement participation through the Emeritus Academy.
Aspects of this role will partially support the financial aspects of the office, including CME funds flow, and aid with administrative support to three A-Deans in this office. A smaller percentage will involve supporting faculty who write institutional grants.

HIRING RANGE: $71,000 - $80,000, COMMENSURATE WITH EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Responsibilities
  • Schedule professional development and education courses, workshops, or program work in accordance with specifications and funding limitations. Oversee daily operations and coordinate the administrative support activities.
  • Monitor and facilitate use of program funds to support needed resources. Makes recommendations to management in use of funds.
  • Provide routine and non-routine technical advice, problem solving assistance, answers to questions and program goals and policy interpretation, and administrative support to the management.
  • Assists in conceptualization, development, and drafting of written products such as promotional and training materials, website content, final completion reports, and other information resources. Assist in analyzing the report to identify improvement opportunities for future offerings.
  • Prepare and analyze each offering expenditures and summarize for management for budget.
  • Develop marketing plans for participants, members, and volunteers. Coordinate workshops, meetings, or conferences logistics, scheduling and communications.
  • Assist in evaluating program effectiveness to develop improved methods; devise evaluation methodology and implements; analyze results and recommend and/or take appropriate action. Has the authority to formulate, affect, interpret, or implement policies or procedures to ensure effective delivery of the program.
  • Develop and maintain internet web site files and/or listings.
  • Interact and maintain liaison with faculty and staff and outside/community agencies in facilitating program. Serve as a primary contact and thinks critically about all aspects of the program to resolve questions and make decisions related to how to best coordinate the programs.
  • Prepares or assists in preparation of grant proposal/submission for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors.
  • Perform other administrative duties having a significant impact on the overall goals of the program.
    Qualifications
    Education: Bachelor’s degree.
    Experience: Two (2) years administrative and coordination program experience
    Other: Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience. In instances where specific education and/or experience is required only directly related education and/or experience may be substituted.
