WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged sitting, standing, walking, handling of large animals (over 50 Lbs)
  • Lifting of (up to 30 pounds) dog supplies, box deliveries, and other items as needed
  • Repetitive motions including but not limited to: bending, twisting, squatting, lunging, pushing/pulling.
  • Flexibility necessary in which the EA may need to be occasionally available on weekends for special events (as needed).

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Minimum 6-months experience in dog training.
  • CPDT-KA or CPAC certified, or willing to obtain, within 6 months.
  • In-depth knowledge of canine behavior, learning theory, and training methodologies.
  • Ability to handle and train dogs of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues.
  • Work environment may vary, including private training sessions, group classes, or in-home consultations.
  • Reliable schedule availability, with occasional handler coverage during high volume seasonal times.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with high attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude, forward-thinking initiative, and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tech-savvy with experience using phone applications, spreadsheets, and email communication.
  • Ability to promote BARK U training services to drive sales.
  • Must love dogs!
Responsibilities

OTHER DUTIES (20%)

  • Provide a safe and fun environment for dogs to enjoy themselves.
  • Supervise dog groupings and report behavioral observations to the team, lodging supervisor, and/or manager.
  • Keep all dog and human areas sanitized to ensure cleanliness and safety (including wiping down surfaces, spot cleaning, and keeping shared spaces presentable).
  • Stock and maintain appropriate inventory levels, including food and cleaning supplies.Assist with feeding schedules and ensure all dogs are fed appropriately and have access to fresh water.
  • Run dogs between the Front and Back of House, and occasionally to/from client vehicles.
  • Greet clients in a friendly and positive manner during drop-off and pick-up.
  • Demonstrate reliability, trustworthiness, and uphold BARK U’s Paws of Excellence.
  • Assist the photographer/content creator by capturing and uploading pictures of dogs during everyday play, holidays, and seasonal events, upon request.
  • Participate in monthly department and staff meetings.
  • Complete tasks and projects as assigned by leadership.
