Company Description Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects are undertaking the design, build, and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package. As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030. The project will strengthen Ontario’s economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction. What is the project? A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River). Stations: One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station. Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations. Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown). The benefits to Ontario! Faster, more frequent, and reliable access to rapid transit with more than 227,500 people will live within a 10-minute walk of an Ontario Line station. Improve the quality of life for commuters by reducing daily travel time. Reduce crowding on the existing Line 1 (Yonge-University) subway. Reduction in traffic congestion, greenhouse gases, and fuel consumption by providing an alternative transportation option. Job Description The Temporary Works Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) will design, review, and stamp temporary structures required for the construction of permanent works on a major metro project (Ontario Metro Line South with 6 underground stations, 1 station at grate, 2 TBM for 2*5,8km, 5 underground caverns). Key Responsibilities Design and professionally stamp temporary structures, including formwork, falsework, scaffolding, shoring, working platforms, access systems, concrete structure, steel structure. Collaborate with methods and construction teams to understand the scope, constraints, available material and technical requirements for all temporary work structures to be designed. Consider all construction stages and temporary loading and lifting phases throughout the design process. Prepare clear, buildable drawings and calculation packages to support safe and efficient field execution. Communicate and explain critical design points and safety considerations to the construction teams and specifically to the Temporary Works Supervisor in charge of the inspections. Provide technical support during the installation, inspection, and dismantling of temporary works. Collaborate with the temporary works team to ensure consistency, safety, and high-quality standards across all deliverables, Review and validate external temporary works designs and coordinate with independent engineers and inspectors. Qualifications Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario. 5-7 years of relevant design experience in structural or civil engineering, ideally on infrastructure, tunneling, or heavy civil projects. Strong understanding of structural behavior and temporary works systems (formwork, scaffolding, steel platforms, TBM-related structures, etc.). Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software such as SAP2000.
