Salary:$226,517 p.a. (pro-rata for part-time) plus non-superable Head of Department Loading plus employer superannuation contribution of 17%

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Professor and Head of Department of Nursing, you will drive innovation in teaching, research, and community engagement, contributing to the faculty’s mission to improve global health and wellbeing. Reporting to the Head of the Melbourne School of Health Sciences, you will lead the Department to further its strategic priorities, ensuring it remains at the cutting edge of nursing education and research.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide strategic leadership to foster excellence in research, teaching, and community engagement.
  • Drive curriculum renewal and oversee program accreditation to meet evolving healthcare needs.
  • Build and sustain national and international research collaborations.
  • Strengthen partnerships with clinical, professional, and industry stakeholders.
  • Mentor and develop academic and professional staff to achieve their potential.
  • Promote an inclusive and collegial departmental culture aligned with University values.

To excel in this role, you will possess:

  • A PhD in Nursing or a related field, along with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
