FACULTY OF ARTS AND SOCIAL SCIENCES ACADEMY OF GEOGRAPHY, SOCIOLOGY AND INTERNATIONAL STUDIES Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor in Government and International Studies (25260816) The Academy invites applications from high-calibre candidates for the above positions in the discipline of Government and International Studies (GIS), which has particular strengths in the study of politics and international relations in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. The appointee is expected to strengthen the Academy’s research profile and contribute to teaching in one or more of the following areas: 1. International Relations 2. European Government and Politics 3. Public Policy (especially technology, or well-being, related) Applicants should hold a relevant doctoral degree and demonstrate an excellent record of research and publication, commensurate with the rank applied for. An ability to contribute to French language teaching or to bring expertise in advanced quantitative and computational methods would be a strong advantage. Candidates for Professor and Associate Professor should also show a clear track record of success in competitive grant applications and evidence of research leadership. The Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor position is tenure-track, with an initial fixed-term contract of three years commencing as early as possible or in January / August–September 2027. Tenured appointment is normally expected to be attained within six years. Exceptionally strong candidates may be considered for direct tenure. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
