SOME KEY SKILLS REQUIRED:

Level D

  • PhD degree or equivalent research doctoral qualification.
  • Nationally recognised research leader in primary care and health systems with a strong track record as first or senior author of peer-reviewed publications and demonstrated success in securing competitive research grants.
  • Experience and expertise translating research into health practice and policy.
  • Professional experience in health services and experience developing relationships with health services.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead research teams and work collaboratively with other researchers and health service providers.
  • Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to work and influence across disciplines, Faculties and institutions, and with industry, professional, community and consumer organisations.
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide leadership, management and mentoring to staff and colleagues in teaching and research.

Level E (in addition to the above)

  • Internationally recognised research leader in primary care and health systems with an outstanding track record as first or senior author of peer-reviewed publications and demonstrated outstanding success in securing competitive research grants.
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead by example in supporting equal opportunity and equity, diversity and inclusion policy and programs as they relate to staff and students.
  • Proven leadership in developing significant productive relationships and engagement with stakeholders, including policy makers, health service, industry, professional, community and consumer organisations, with success in attracting significant funding from government and industry.

Responsibilities

Primary Care is a core theme for the ICFHS, and this new position will play a leadership role in the development and implementation of improved models of primary care, particularly for populations that are under-served, as well as integrating with research, policy and advocacy work across all the ICFHS themes. The position reports to the ICFHS Director and will involve postgraduate supervision.
